The Legalization of Marijuana

All over the world lately many of us have heard news and debates on whether marijuana/cannabis should be legalized. Those of you who have heard about this would also know that there are very different views and opinions on this topic, however many of the opinions we hear are those of the TDs and those of the people standing government, but do our opinions not count?? Surely now in modern times we have as much right to our opinion just as much as the idiots that deem themselves fit to run our countries! Unfortunately our opinions stand for nothing though... pffft...

Anyways I for one want to know what the public's views are , do you want marijuana legalized or not and what are the reasons for the decision that you came to. I admittedly am a daily smoke of marijuana and of course am all for legalizing marijuana... but not for my own selfish reasons as there are many benefits. As a citizen of Ireland i see on a daily basis how many drug dealers are roaming our streets and preying on easy targets including kids to expand there empire, but if the government legalized it then it could be distributed in a monitored way and maybe our kids wont be so vulnerable. There is also a lot of money to be made on it , what about taxes? They would make bucket loads of money through tax and it would go some way fixing the financial trouble that most of the world are going through instead of cutting money from innocent people that don't have it. That for me is one of two very good reasons. The second reason is that illnesses such as M.S. is very common nowadays and marijuana is medically proven to help these illnessess, so why shouldn't it be legalized for those that need it . In my opinion these people should be able to get it on the medical card or similar alternatives. I am completely aware that i have not listed any cons to this topis but that is because this is just my opinions . I am very interested to hear what other peoples views are on the topic whether its pro or con. We all deserve to have our opinions heard :) .
